Classes
From mindless to mindful eating
To help you make and maintain long-term changes in your eating, health, and weight, the Nourishing Life offers two 6-8 week workshops: Basic Training and Kitchen Personal Training. Each class in the workshop is 2 hours of fun, food, and facts that provide a holistic and integrative way to help you get on track and stay there. You are empowered to learn how to eat for health and free yourself from the empty promises of diets and rigid meal plans.
Class format includes practical step-by-step nutrition education, mindfulness, eating strategies, group discussion, sharing, and other exercises. You’ll learn how to create an informed and intuitive eating practice that suits your body’s ever changing needs.

“Stress is an unavoidable consequence of life.” Dr. Hans Selye (noted stress researcher). But most of us have excess stress that affects our health, happiness, and other areas of our lives. It’s been estimated that more than 90% of health problems that bring people into the doctor’s office are stress-related!
You can change your relationship to stress!

Based on the research of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programs began in 1979 at the University of Massachussetts Medical Center. Since then, MBSR is is now offered in over 200 medical centers, hospitals, and clinics around the world,
Mindfulness helps us recognize and accept our thoughts and emotions without reactivity. Rather than controlling our emotions, we learn to experience and express them and respond to stress versus constant reactivity.
With repeated practice, mindfulness allows us to develop the ability to "get off autopilot" and decide how we respond to the unavoidable stressors in our lives.
I can help you learn:
- Strategies to make changes in lifestyle, personal habits, and workspace organization to help prevent or minimize negative stress.
- Stress management techniques such as relaxation, exercise, and nutrition for long-term protection against the cumulative effects of stress.
- That a situation in and of itself does not always cause stress—it is how we interpret and deal with the situation that determines whether or not we experience negative stress.
- To identify the symptoms of stress before overload and burnout.
